[Project number 40005]

Overall research aim:

To describe and analyse the relationship between women's and men's family formation and change, and their occupational and employment status trajectories.

Brief description of study methods:

(1) Evaluate for women and men of working ages the occupational classification system changes and double-coding of occupation in Census and birth records between 1981 and 2001.

(2) Describe by tabulation and regression methods fertility and marital and cohabitational status changes associated with occupation and employment at censuses and, for higher-order births, at previous births.
